Born in 1843 in Hamburg, Tennessee

Died April 2, 1905 in Wynnewood, I.T. of stomach cancer

Buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma  His grave is marked with an iron cross 

Sam moved to this area in 1899 from Lowreyville, Tennessee.

He owned and operated a grocery store.

Sam's wife was named Kate.  She was born in 1851 and passed in 1910.  This information is from her tombstone.

Sam was elected mayor of Wynnewood in 1903 and again in 1904.

He was a Methodist.

His unit was found under "Samuel Kendall" in Confederate Master List.  On Mrs. R.L. Garrett's UDC application here, she says she is the daughter of S.J. Kendall, Co. G, 1st Tennessee Infantry.   Information was also taken from Vienna Kendall's application.
