Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and does have a military headstone.  This headstone had no dates of birth or death on it

His wife, Nancy J. Maxey is also buried at Oaklawn.   She was born  July 30, 1844 died February 25, 1909
