Private

Company K, 2nd Missouri Cavalry

Born in 1849

Died August 15, 1904 in Wynnewood, Indian Territory

Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery, Lot 2, Block 97,   in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and does not currently have a military marker

James Tucker married Mary Ellen Stait on December 6, 1888 in Hutchinson, Kansas.  They lived at Denison, Texas before coming to the Wynnewood area in 1904

Mary filed for a pension in 1931.  She was born November 12, 1848 in Shawnee, Ohio

James' obituary says he was a Cumberland Presbyterian and his funeral was preached by J.M. Martin, a fellow soldier

His tombstone shows he was born in 1853 but this would have made him only 12 when the war ended.  Even being born in 1849 he would have been only 16 at the end of the war
