Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood,
Oklahoma and does not currently have
a military headstone. He has a double headstone with an N.J. Varnell, who was born 1835.  This headstone shows no date of death for N.J.

W.T. Varnell was in Limestone County, Alabama in 1860 and can be found there alos in th 1879, while he is in McNairy County, Tennessee in 1900

He married Nancy Jane Cook April 13, 1879 in Limestone County, Alabama. She was born April, 1841 in Wayne County, Tennessee and died October 30, 1928 in Garvin County, Oklahoma.  Her first husband was Wm. Franks, whom she married January 11, 1860 in Wayne County, Tennessee

His military unit was found in the Confederate Roster, listed as William Varnell
