| Eugene "Gene" Jay, age 64, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away May 18, 2011, in Guthrie. He was born May 7, 1947, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Marion Wallace and Iva (Dickerson) Jay. He married Goldie Mae Cook on July 8, 1966, in Guthrie. Gene lived in the Guthrie area most of his life. He was a custodian for Guthrie Public Schools and retired after 17 years. Gene loved to work and would do anything for anybody at anytime. He is survived by his wife Goldie of Guthrie, daughter Tammy and husband Scott Mandarich of Edmond, sister Norma Jean and husband Don Hendricks of Oklahoma City and grandson Craig Lassche of Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cody Leach officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
