Arthur F. Kemp, 40-year-old Guthrie produce man, died at 8 p.m. Sunday night
at an Oklahoma City hospital following a long illness. Services will be held
at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Davis Funeral home, Rev. John W. Coontz pastor
of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Summit View
cemetery.
Kemp's death followed a major operation at the Oklahoma City hospital where
he was taken for treatment a week ago. His home is at 523 E. Warner-av. For
the past 10 years he has been a partner in Duehning and Kemp Produce company.
The Guthrian moved here from Mulhall 10 years ago. During his residence here
he took active part as a member of the LeBron American Legion post, the Chamber
of Commerce and the Retail Merchants association. Kemp was a member of the
First Methodist church.
He is survived by a wife; one daughter Virginia Mae; his parents. Mr. &
Mrs. C. F. Kemp, 208 E. Washington-av; five sisters, Mrs. Hallie Mosier and
Mrs. Grace Boedecker, both of Guthrie; Mrs. Nora Brown and Mrs. Irene Brennenan,
both of Tulsa, and Mrs. Leaha Barton of Oklahoma City; and one brother, R.
S. Kemp of Billings, Okla.
