Marguerite and Alex: About 1910. Alex and Marguerite Ross. Alex was killed when a torch he was using exploded at a plant of some kind near Dougherty on April 5, 1930. (The last time I was there, the remnants of this plant was visible as a large cement structure filled with sand on the north side of the road about a mile north of Dougherty) Marguerite grew up to marry Roy Bennett - they were later my mother and father.* |

(which I had to mow). House is still standing...a trailer now sits in the
front lawn. Remodeling in 1955 took away much of front porch.* |

Locomotive: Old Southern Rock Asphalt Plant locomotive
near Dougherty, OK circa 1928. R.D. Ross was foreman at that time and
bought this locomotive so the asphalt could be transferred to the mainline
at Dougherty.*
