A 2 year-old Choctaw boy was killed and two other members of his family were injured Friday when a car driven by his father was struck by a Rock Island passenger train just west of Choctaw.

Dead is Gary Don Beatty, 2, Choctaw.
Trooper...said the train caught the right rear of the car driven by Harry B. Beatty, 40, knocking it 68 feet down the side of the track. Beatty and two sons were thrown out.
The 2 year-old was dead on arrival at Midwest City Hospital of a head injury. Another son, Roy Allen Beatty, 7, was undergoing surgery in St. Anthony Hospital Friday night for critical head and internal injuries. The father received a head cut and internal injuries. His condition is listed as serious.
