Brumley, Arlion Marion "Tye," age 88, went to be with the Lord Apr. 6, 1999. Born Aug. 8, 1910 in Palestine, TX. After the death of his mother at age 9 Tye quit school to work & help his father support the family.
He came to Choctaw, OK in 1935 where he met his future wife, Allie "May" Collins, while working in the cotton patch on J.W. Gillespie`s ranch. They were married in 1936 in Guthrie & began their family in 1937. Tye farmed & worked in the lumber industry to support his family. As Choctaw began to develop Tye became the City Councilman for Ward 1 where he was involved in writing the City Charter & was later on the Planning Commission. He was a key negotiator in the development of the Choctaw Plaza Shopping Center & in locating the land for the Eastern Okla. County VoTech & was on the Advisory Board of the Mary Mahoney Memorial Health Center for many years. He was very active in the Choctaw
Kiwanis where he established a program to provide coats, hats & shoes for needy children in the Choctaw Schools & was Past-President of the Choctaw Senior Center. Where there was a concern Tye was always ready to lend a helping hand. He retired from the Staff of the State House of Representatives where he served as Sergeant of Arms.
He was a member of the Nicoma Park Church of Christ. After May`s death Tye remarried a dear family friend, LaVeta Foltz on Oct 7, 1995. Some of his favorite sayings were, "I might be a talker, but
I'm a doer," "Right`s right & wrong`s wrong" & "It just pays to be nice to people." He is survived by his wife, LaVeta, of the home; son Dean Brumley & wife, Barbara of Choctaw; 5 grandchildren, Ray Dean, Scott, Tamara, Kim & Tonya; 7 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Brumley & her son; 2 step-sons; 2 step-daughters;6 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, May in 1994 & his son, Bill in 1999 & 2 sisters, Ada & Gladys. Tye will be greatly missed in eastern Oklahoma County. Services will be 2:00 PM, Fri. at Bill Eisenhour N.E. Chapel with burial following at
Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw.

Allie May Brumley, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend, departed this life to be with the Lord, June 3, 1994.
She was born in Bonham, TX, Jan. 11, 1905. Married A.M. Brumley,
June 26, 1936.
She is survived by her husband, A.M. "Tye"
Brumley; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Brumley; son,
Dean Brumley; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and a host
of friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Mon., June 6, 1994 at
First Baptist Church of Choctaw with burial at Elmwood Cemetery
in Choctaw
