Carroll, Michael P., was born in Harrisburg, Pa. on July 2, 1953, and went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 8, 1995. Michael graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 1971. He attended OU and UCO before joining the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he attended Eastern Virginia Medical School and became a veterinarian technician. Michael dedicated his life to helping animals and was a strong proponent of spaying and neutering to control the population of unwanted cats and dogs. At the time of his death, he was working as a vet tech in Virginia Beach, Va.
Michael was a loving and devoted father, and is survived by his daughters, Johanna, 17, and Rebecca, 10, of Suffolk, Va; his parents,
Frank and Betty Carroll of Okla. City; his sisters, Kathleen Holmes, Jeannie Gardner, and Judy Walz; his brothers, Frankie and John Carroll; 3 nieces, 4 nephews and numerous relatives and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him always. Contributions may be made, in Michael's memory, to Free to Live Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 130072, Edmond, OK. 73013, or to the United States Humane Society.
Viewing will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Smith & Kernke, 1401 N.W. 23rd, OKC, with Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Catholic Church on Fri. Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., with interment at
Resurrection
Cemetery.
