Thelma Lea Davis went to her heavenly home on August 11,
2008. Thelma was born in McLoud, Oklahoma to Ed and Lona Wood,
on August 29, 1914, the second oldest of nine children. At the
age of 18 months, she was stricken with polio, which left her
right leg paralyzed. This did not prevent Thelma from having a
fulfilling life and successful career.
She met her husband of 52 years, Lee Davis, while attending
Hills Business College. Thelma went to work at Douglas Repair
Facility (later changed to Tinker Air Force Base) in March,
1943. She retired after 28 years to enjoy life with her husband
on their farm.
Thelma was preceded in death by her father and mother, her
husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and her stepson Ernest Davis.
She is survived by 2 stepchildren, Wilma Russell of Choctaw ,
OK, and Doris Jean Haithcock of Oklahoma City; 2 foster
children, DeAnna Hibbard of Choctaw , OK, and Fred Irwin of
Glendale, AZ; 2 sisters, Wanda Warren of New Orleans, LA, and
ReeNa Smith of Midwest City, OK; and 1 brother, Dan Wood of
Gore, OK; as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.
Thelma lived the last 19+ years at Spanish Cove Life Care
Center.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 14,
2008, at Smith & Turner Mortuary, Yukon, OK. Interment at
Elmwood
Cemetery in Choctaw , OK.
