Chester Kidd, Bowler, is Dead
Chester Kidd, Veteran Bowler, died Wednesday at
home. He was 82. Kidd of 4414 E. 47th Pl. was a
regular at the Rose Bowl and Sheridan Lanes until
last October. A bowler since 1919 Kidd was a member
of The Old Timers league. When Kidd started bowling
at 17, wooden bowling balls were used. Kidd moved to
Tulsa in 1924 and picked up bowling at the SW
Recreation Center downtown. He posted his highest
series there with 734 in a sweepstakes match
connected with the state men's tournament. Kidd was
an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co,
retiring in 1963 after 45 years of service. He was a
member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara Sharp of
Tulsa, his sons, Donald Kidd of Denver, CO and
Harold Kidd of Tulsa, 13 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren. Whisenhunt Funeral Home is in charge
of the funeral arrangements. Contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite
charity.

Harold Tulsa, Donald Anchorage, AK, daughter Mrs.
Barbara Sharp Tulsa, 13 grandchildren and 1 great
grandchild.
