Lewellen Leroy, was born July 2, 1937, in Statford, OK. His
family moved to Choctaw, OK when he was 7 years old. Leroy lost
his courageous battle with cancer and went to his heavenly home,
January 2, 2000.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Aline Kelley &
father, J.D. Lewellen.
He is survived by his wife of 42 yrs., Pearleen of the home;
4 brothers & 2 sisters, Leo Lewellen, Dallas, TX, Jack Lewellen,
Shirley Womack, Johnny Lewellen, Joyice Ogee & Harry Lewellen
all of' Choctaw; 1son, Mark Lewellen & wife, Anne; 3 daughters,
Debbie Franks & husband, Ken, Karen Coward & husband, Tom, and
Teresa Lewellen, all of Choctaw, OK; 9 grandchildren, Angie &
husband, Mike, Kathy, Sarah, Charley, Holly, Wesley, Ryan, Dawn
& Eric; 1 great grandchild, Bradley. On Jan. 22, 1997, he
retired as a unit manager in the field horticulture division,
after working 36 yrs. for the OKC Parks Department.
His two loves were his family and outdoors. He spent
countless hrs. working to provide habitatforwildlife which he
enjoyed sharing with his family. He will be greatly missed but
never forgotten.
Services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, Jan. 5,
2000, at Bill Eisenhour NE Chapel, with burial at
Elmwood Cemetery.
