Michael R. Martinsen, 60, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at Midwest Regional Hospital on August 28, 2007 after a year long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, 9/1/2007 at the Barnes & Johnson FH Chapel with burial at
Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, OK. Dinner will be provided for family and friends following the burial at the Midwest City Moose Lodge, 8713 E. Main, Midwest City. Michael devoted his life to his family and his work. He retired from Southwest Roofing after 30 years of service to become Administrator of the Midwest City Moose Lodge where he was a member since 1994. He coached Little League Football for the Midwest City Rockets and Girls Softball in the Midwest City Association for many years.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Reserves. Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline Martinsen; daughter, Kristine Henderson; son, Douglas Martinsen, all of Choctaw; daughter, Michelle Caudle of Midwest City; one self-adopted son, David McDaniels of Newalla; two sisters, Dixie Gelinas of Fitchburg, MA, and LaMona Hanson of Des Moines, IA; 15 wonderful grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He will also be missed by three sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, five sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many friends that he dearly loved.
Michael was preceded in death by his father and mother, Darrell & Catherine Martinsen and his brother, Patrick Martinsen, all of Des Moines,
IA.
