Jesse Lindsey "J.L." Maynard , 86, passed away March 3, 1989. Born Sept. 28, 1902 in Marshall, Ark. He attended Central State Teachers' College in Edmond where he received his B.S. Degree with a major in mathematics. Also attended O.S.U. where he received his M.S. Degree in Vocational Agriculture. He taught for 37 years in Choctaw Public Schools retiring in 1968. Member of the Choctaw United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean of the home; 3 daughters & 2 sons-in law, Linda & John Jones of Billings, Montana, Judy & Leon Prater of Choctaw and Donna Brown, of Choctaw ; a son & daughter-in-law, Dale & Barbara Maynard of Choctaw ; 9 grandchildren, Tara, Lindsay, Lisa, Chris, Brad, Justin, Lori, Wayne & Scott; three brothers, Louis of Norman, Allen of Purcell & Bill of Wayne, OK; two sisters, Della Melton and Jane Collins, both of Purcell, OK. Preceded in death by a brother, Johnny and 2 sisters, Maybelle Dockery and Annie Curry.

Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, March 7, 1989 at the Bill Eisenhour N.E. Chapel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw , OK. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the J.L. Maynard Golf Scholarship Fund, or the American Lung Assoc.

Wilma Jean Maynard , 86, of Choctaw , OK passed away June 6, 2002 in Shawnee, OK. She was born January 9, 1916 in Choctaw , OK to Max Whisenant & Pauline (Tescier) Whisenant. Wilma served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps during WW II; was active for many years in Women's Society of Christian Services at Choctaw, and Choctaw PTA and a member of Choctaw First United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, serving and working for others.

She is survived by 1 son: Dale Maynard & wife Barbara of Choctaw ; 3 daughters: Donna Brown of Choctaw ; Judy Prater of Choctaw ; Linda Jones & husband John of Billings, MT; 7 grandchildren: Tara, Lori, Wayne, Brad, Scott, Lindsay, Chris; 8 great grandchildren: Holly, Harrison, Cutter, Conli, Cooper, Lauren, Easton & Dakota; 4 sisters: Jimmie King, Maxine Hester, Nora Rainey, Kathryn Sandlin, many nieces and nephews and many other family members.

Preceded in death by husband: Lindsey; parents: Max & Pauline Whisenant; 1 great grand son: Chance; 3 brothers: Junius, Wilbur & Wayne Whisenant; 2 sisters: Agnes Herlong and Alice Davis.

Services 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Choctaw First United Methodist Church, with interment at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw , OK. Memorial donations may be made to the Choctaw First United Methodist Building Fund. Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
