Luella Kays Nyswonger was born December 6, 1880 at Lucas, Iowa. She was the sixth child of George and Laura Kays. She had four brothers and three sisters, these preceded her in death.
She was married to Lon Nyswonger on December 17, 1898 at Chariton, Iowa. One child was born to this union. In January, 1904, they moved to farm near Jones, Oklahoma and have resided there ever since.
She had been in poor health for about two years, her condition became worse and she passed away in Wesley Hospital at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 29, 1960 at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
There remains to mourn her loss, her husband, Lon Nyswonger of the home; her daughter, Mrs. Laura McCoy of Jones; four grandchildren, Ruth White of Greenville, Texas, Faye Flowers, Dale McCoy and Jean Moore all of Jones, Oklahoma; thirteen great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.Submitted by Maggie Wettengel Sep 2002.

1920 federal census for Oklahoma, Alonzo Nyswonger is in Oklahoma county. He is a farmer, age 40, born in Iowa and his parents both born in Ohio. His wife is Luella, age 39, born in Iowa, and her parents both born in Illinois. Daughter is Laura age 20 born in Iowa.
