Loyd D. " Curly ", 68, of Choctaw, passed away August 20,
1992. Born March 14, 1924 in Waveland, AR to Bert and Carrie (Nelms)
Rogers. Came to the Choctaw area in 1952. He retired from
Southwestern Bell after 35 years service. Veteran of WWII, U.S.
Army, and member of the Harrah VFW, Jones American Legion, and
Choctaw Roundup Club. Enjoyed riding and raising horses and
seeing his grandchildren ride.
Also enjoyed square dancing and
served as a City Marshall in Choctaw. Member of the First United
Methodist Church of Choctaw.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, whom he married March 17,
1947; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Danny West of
OKC, Kathy and Clifford Kilpatrick of Choctaw; 3 grandchildren,
Kim and Steven West and Mary Anna Kilpatrick; a brother, Lewis
Rogers of Jacksonville, TX; 2 sisters, Lena Wyatt, Houston, TX.
and Alene Cornelius, Russellville, AR.
Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Luther.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 1992 at the
Bill Eisenhour N.E. Chapel, with burial at
Elmwood
