April 28, 1989Ella M.deCordova, 98, OKC, passed away 4-26-89, to
join her Savior and her loved ones gone on before. Affectionately known
by many as ""Mother de'', she was a courageous lady who cherished life
and her family and friends.
Born July 18, 1890 in Linn, Ok., I.T., Chickasaw Nation. Moved to
Tishomingo in 1901, she was one of the first students to attend Murray
A&M College in Tishomingo. After her marriage to Leo W. deCordova , they
moved to Pittsburg, Ok. in 1916, and in 1921, moved to OKC. Mrs.
deCordova went to work for the State Industrial Commission in 1929 under
Gov. Wm. H. Holloway, and retired under Gov. Raymond Gary. A long time
active member of First Baptist Church, OKC, and became a Christian as a
young girl, a 50 year plus member Amigo Chap. 45 1 Eastern Star.
Survived by 2 sons and their wives, Wm. F.
(Bill) and Lois deCordova , MWC, Kenneth F. (Bud) and Clara
deCordova , OKC; a very close friend who was like a daughter, and her
husband, Thelma Jo and J.O. Spiller, Norman, Ok.; 1 grandson, 2
granddaughters, 7 great grandchildren.
Services 10am Friday, 4-28-89, Louise Prichard Chapel of First
Baptist Church, OKC, Dr. Gene Garrison and Rev. Dave Prichard
officiating. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by
Hahn-Cook Funeral Home.
