DORIS MAE BRANDENBURG, 70, passed away in Pawnee on Tuesday, August 25, 2003, and funeral services will be held here Saturday.
She was born in Morrison on March 9, 1933 to Ted Ray Porter and Freda May (Focht) Porter and married Verlon Brandenburg and he preceded her in
death.
She was a long time resident of Fairfax but passed away n Pawnee in the home of her brother and wife, Kenney and Fay Porter. She was a member of the
Church of Christ in Fairfax.
Doris loved to read, visit with her family and friends and loved animals.
Surviving are 5 children: Judy Chapman, Everett, Washington; Verla Bonner, Bucky Brandenburg, Karna Duncan and Buddy Brandenburg, all of Tulsa plus 17
grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are 2 sisters and 3 brothers: Brenda Hillshafter and Kay McConnell, both of Fort Worth, Texas; Larry Porter, Muskogee, Okla., Curtis
Porter, Buffalo, Okla. And Kenneth Porter, Pawnee plus a number of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Ted and Freda Porter, a son, David Porter; 2 sisters – Deloris Ramey and Bobby Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003, at the Eshelman Memorial Chapel at Pawnee’s Highland Cemetery with John Holt
officiating. Burial will be in Pawnee’s Highland Cemetery under direction of the Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee.
