GRACE (RAINS) LYNN, 95-year-old county pioneer mother, passed away in Pawnee on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, and funeral services were held in Pawnee on Saturday. She left 34 direct descendants. She was born on April 27, 1908 at Castle, Okla. to William Rains and Sarah (Clifton) Rains and married Dennis F. Lynn on June 27, 1925, at Pawhuska. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1983 after nearly 58 years of marriage. They moved to Pawnee from the Ralston Big Bend area in September of 1966 and she was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Grace walked close to God, she was a loving, kind and precious mother, perfect homemaker and wife and she loved making her many grandchildren happy. Surviving is a son, Leon Lynn of Bixby and 2 daughters- Lola Warren and Melva Stith, both of Pawnee. Also 9 grandchildren: Larry Lynn, Kellyville, Okla; Linda (Lynn) Pareff, Tulsa; Randy Lynn, Bixby; Dennis Warren, Donna (Warren) Bruce and Carol (Stith) Chapman, all of Pawnee; David Warren, Glencoe; Deloris (Warren) Foreman, Perry and Shannon Stith, Big Bend, Indiana plus 17 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren plus a number of other relatives. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Rains; her brother and sister-in-law, Jess and Alice Rains. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at Pawnee’s Highland Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Warren and the Rev. Eddie James officiating.
