Newspaper Dated Wednesday, August 20, 2003

OREN RALPH OSBORN could fix anything. His family knew it. His friends knew it. His company knew it. And he was kept busy. When his employer of more than
32 years – Moore Business Forms – closed its plant at Stillwater he was snapped up by Sofix Corp. in August 2000 and he took his maintenance and
instrumentation skills to Chattanooga, Tenn.
Osborn died there early Saturday morning, August 16, 2003, at his residence. He was 55.
Oren was born May 3, 1948, at Tulsa. He grew up in Pawnee and graduated from high school here in 1966. He was married to Linda Leigh on March 10,
1968, at Union Home Christian Church south of Clencoe.
Osborn was in the Nation Guard and then started his career with Moore and Sofix. His passion was Wurlitzer jukeboxes – collecting them and restoring
them. He loved music and could name any song or any artist. He was a water skier and had a great appreciation of unique cars. He enjoyed working on
tube-type amplifiers, and playing the piano and organ. He loved his grandchildren and cherished his time with friends and family and he enjoyed DJing
for parties.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Linda Sue Osborn; his son Tony Osborn and his wife Michelle; his daughter Tina Wheatley and her husband Mike,
and his grandchildren, Savana and Mason Wheatley; his sister Kather Hesser and her husband David, all of Glencoe; a brother, Ronnie Osborn and his wife
Kathleen of Fullerton, Calif., and a host of other in-laws and friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Winnie Osborn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Pastor Dwight Edwards, formerly of the
Stillwater Ninth Ave. Christian Church, now of Ardmore, will officiate. Burial will be in the Leigh Family Cemetery near Yost Lake.
The family has suggested, in lieu of flowers, he be remembered with a memorial to the Texas Childrens’ Hospital, Brachial Plexus Clinic, 1919 S.
Braeswood, MC4-4483, Houston, Texas 77030-2107.
