THELMA DOUGLAS TIGER, 64, passed away at her home in Stroud, Okla. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, and funeral services were held on Tuesday in Stroud. She was born on June 30, 1939, in Black Mountain, Arizona, to Etcitty Benally and Helen (Begay) Benally, was married to Herschel M. Tiger and lived in Stroud for many years. She worked as a schoolteacher and homemaker and was a member of the North Rock Indian Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband, Herschel Tiger of the home in Stroud plus a son and daughter: Randy Tiger and his wife, Sharon, Pawnee, and Cheryl Zuniga and her husband Carlos of Cushing plus 2 grandchildren – Caleb Tiger and Ashtin Tiger, both of Pawnee. Also surviving is a brother, Juan Begay of Chinle Arizona, and a sister, Roselee Tsosie and husband, Nelson of Many Farms, Arizona and many other relatives. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Stroud, with the Rev. Thomas Morris officiating.
