Holt Family
submitted by Cecilia Holt-Sherry
sherries13@comcast.net

My dad was Wm. Cecil Holt. He was born in Braman Oklahoma in 1900. Two years later my grandfather Wm. Calvin Holt moved the family 5 miles SW of Hinton. I believe this was in the Sugar Creek Township. My dad and grandfather were farmers. Dad belonged to the Capper's Boy's and Girl's Club, an organization that later became the 4-H Club. My grandfather Wm. Calvin Holt was also a builder and contractor building many structures in not only Hinton and the surrounding area but the courthouse in Lincoln Kansas.

Sincerely,
Cecilia Holt-Sherry

Note from submitter

I'm delighted to let you know a Holt cousin, whom I have never met, saw the Holt pictures on the Caddo County OKGenWeb site and contacted me. He has identified the Infant (?) in front of the finished Holt home as his grandfather Oliver Conley (current spelling of their last name). We'd appreciate it if you could add this name to that picture.

I hope more Caddo County families participate in submitting their family pictures and personal stories.

Thanks again!
Cecilia Holt-Sherry
