This County is available for adoption, if interested please e-mail the State coordinator and/or the Assistant State Coordinator for details.
Kiowa, Comanche, and Apache Reservation was the last Indian land opening. Comanche County was one of the 3 counties later organized from this land. In 1906, the western part of the county known as "Big Pasture" was opened and its half million acres sold in 160 acres tracts to the highest bidder.
Citizens of 13 townships and the parts of 13 other townships in southern Comanche County voted to organize a new county in this area on August 22, 1912. The county was named "Cotton County" and Walters was later chosen as the county seat. Cotton County became the 77th county.

I would like to expand the website to include obituaries,
photographs, funeral programs, school photos & class rosters, etc.
However, I do not live in Cotton County, so any contributions and/or information will be greatly appreciated.
