MOUNDS — The Rev. Loyd Ellis Davis, 80, of Mounds died Saturday at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at Mounds Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Baxter Scroggins and Tallis Nelson officiating.

Burial will be in Mounds City Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Sep 5, 1909, in Alma, Ark., and married Emma Davis March 10, 1928, in Okmulgee.

The Rev. Davis moved from Tuskegee to Mounds 34 years ago. He was retired from Bartlett Collins Glass Co. and a Pentecostal minister. He pastored the Oak Grove Community Church for 13 years and was still active in the ministry.

He was a member of the Mounds Senior Citizens and the Mounds Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include wife Emma; sons L. D. Davis and Harold Davis, both of Mounds; daughters Vera Vaughn of Okemah, Vada Little of Mounds, and Pauline Buchanan and Carolyn Sue Richards, both of Sapulpa; brother Ralph Davis of Bristow; sister Rose Hill of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will headquarter at the family home located south of Mounds.

Services for the Rev. Loyd Ellis Davis were today at Mounds Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Baxter Scroggins and Tallis Nelson officiating.

Burial followed at Mounds City Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were Pat McDonald, O. J. Winn, Ron Winn, Leonard Wickerson; Stanley Courtney and Andy Arnold.

Honorary bearers included Darylo Hart, Robbie Makinson, Billy Hart, Gregg Goodwin, Gregg Crum and Ricky Crum.

The Rev. Davis, a Mounds resident for may years, died Saturday at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

The family will headquarter at the Davis home south of Mounds.
