Benjamin C. (Ben) Waltrip, 80, 227 No. Linden, died today at Bartlett Memorial Center.

Services are pending with Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Waltrip was employed by the City of Sapulpa’s street department until his retirement.

Survivors include wife Opal; daughters Faye Rooks of Claremore, Wanda Canady of Tulsa, and Barbara Belveal and Patsy Clark, both of Sapulpa; brothers Roy Waltrip of Kellyville and Wayne Waltrip of Fresno, Calif; sisters Evelyn Merkle of Rolla, Mo., and Ruby Friend of Kellyville; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Benjamin C. (Ben) Waltrip will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Westside Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Millard McGuire officiating.

Burial will be at Sunrise Cemetery west of Kellyville, under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Casket bearers are Alvie Robinson, Rick Canady, Terry Clark, Chuck Belveal and Bobby Belveal. Honorary bearers are Ott Jones and Charlie Feeback.

The family will headquarter at the Waltrip residence, 227 N. Linden.

Mr. Waltrip, a longtime Sapulpa resident died Monday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.
