Beverly Cothren - 02/23/04 looking for family of Herman Cothren/Cothran, Born approx. 1900, Pope co Arkansas. He married 1929/30 Mary Clemmons (spelling?) and on the 1930 Pope Co. Ark. census they live with his mother Ada Cothren. Known children - Juanita and Herman, Jr. Sometime after 1930 moved to the Sandy (Sand?) Spring area of Oklahoma. Any help greatly appreciated - I could not make out on the map which Co. this town was located. Any help greatly appreciated.

ROSE BROWN - 06/05/00 I am searching for any information on a Mary Conner that was supposed to have moved from Washington Co., Ark around 1898 to Okla. after the death of her husband Jonathan Conner. It is believed that she had a son by the name of Authur Conner that was living in Hallett. The only thing we know of her is her obituary say she was living in Hallett 2 years before her death in Stephens Co., Texas in 1921. It also states that she is living with a daughter at the time of her death. Any information on her or her son Authur would be greatly appreciated.

Jo Ann Gibson - 06/05/00 Looking for death info on Olga Thornton died in Medford, Grant  co., Okla. June 13, 1902 on her wedding day. I'm not sure if she got married or not. If she did I do not know her married name.  Parents were James and Malissa Thornton. I am also looking for info on death on Malissa Thornton Rogers (Rodgers) who did died in Medford also in the 1930's but was buried in Blackburn, Okla. or there in Medford next to Olga.  Do you have access to any of this info?

Susanne B. Jones - 01/10/00 I am researching the Moore family. Thomas Moore and his wife, Sarah Covalt moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma sometime around 1910. They were from Tyler Co., WV. All the family moved there with the exception of my Grandmother Eunice Moore Whitsett. I'd be willing to trade some of my research time here in WV for some of your time in Cleveland. I live in north central WV, Marion Co. I can and have done research in Monongalia County, Marion Co., Harrison Co., Tyler Co., Wetzel, Ohio, Brooke, etc. (make it a one day trip, please) and in PA=Westmoreland, Washington, Fayette, Greene, Somerset. Haven't ventured into Allegheny Co., PA yet as I don't want to face Pittsburgh traffic! I have a lot of information from Thomas and Sarah on back, but just a listing of their children. I would love to find out more about Thomas and Sarah.

Karen Halvorson - 01/10/00 my ancestors names were Charles Rufus Collier, born 1838 in TN, a Civil War Vet for the South and Katherine Elizabeth (Griner) Collier, born 1841 in TX. She was apparently called Beth but different records have her as Beth Catherine, Catherine Beth and any spelling that suited the moment. They had 11 or twelve children while living in the Upshur, Smith, & Hunt Counties of Texas. My grandfather was born in Hunt Co TX in 1879. It was said that his parents were killed when he was "young". He supposedly lived with different older siblings until "he got fed up" and struck out on his own when he was 14. I believe at least one child was born after 1880. So Charles and Beth could have died as early as 1881. One might assume that they were definitely gone by 1893. We find different siblings living in various areas of OK in 1900. My grandfather was staying with an older sister & husband in Pawnee County in mid-July. He married in Sept of that year. A brother was in Pontotoc Co with a family. Descendants of that family are still there. Notes of a genealogical nature left by my late father list where many of my grandfather's siblings were living in the 1930s. These places were Tulsa, Ringling, Norman, Oklahoma City, Ada, Anadarko, Carnegie, and Sulphur. There were at least 3, perhaps, four siblings that were not mentioned in my father's notes at all. Three would be the three oldest siblings. My father's notes listed two sisters who were not in any census I've found. And four sisters and one brother were not mentioned in my dad's notes. To complicate things, it seems to have been an accepted thing back then to go by your middle name rather than your first name, which my grandfather did. He was James Thomas Collier, and called himself Tom. My g-grandfather Charles Rufus was often referred to as Rufus. I have no idea where rail lines ran in the late 1800s in Oklahoma. There apparently were none in your area. Do you have any idea what the Hunt signified after the slash following the name Collier? Any light that you might shed would be appreciated. Of course it's quite possible that these folks are completely different Colliers.
