PENDLETON, YOHE

Donna Womack Jun 21, 1998
My Grandfather, and Grandmother lived in Frederick, Oklahoma and raised their 4 children there in Frederick. I understand my Mother, Mary Alice YOHE had a nursery school for some of the children there in Frederick, and she met my father, Don W. PENDLETON there. They married in Altus Oklahoma. The YOHEs were Church of Christ and the PENDLETONs were Baptist, so my father told me that he and mother had to go to Altus to get married because none of the ministers in Frederick would do the marriage for them. My Grandfather PENDLETON was a Baptist minister, and my Grandfather YOHE was a deacon in good standing in the Church of Christ. I know quite a lot about the PENDLETON side of my family. However my Mother died when I was only 4yrs old, and although we spent time with my Grandmother YOHE in the summer time when school was out, we never knew much about the YOHE side of the family. Grandfather met Grandmother YOHE in Texas and from there moved to Frederick, where Grandaddy YOHE helped build the grain elevator there in Frederick. I don't know where his family came from or if he had any brothers, sisters, or any other family at all. Thank you so much for your help.
