First Baptist Church - Hugo
First Baptist Church was organized May 11, 1902 in a tent at 121 East Duke Street in Hugo. In 1903 the congregation purchased land and built at 2nd and Bluff streets. Around 1918 the present location was purchased at 3rd and Jackson streets. The church met at this location for two years in a tent until funds were raised to begin construction of the new building. It was many years before the building was completed. In 2006 a new east annex was added.
