The hospital was abondoned in the 1990's. My great grandfather commited my great grandmother to Eastern State Hospital for the Insane in about 1922. It was news to me, until I found her on the 1930 Census for Township 7, Craig, Oklahoma.

Lori, I feel your frustration - its like a shroud of secrecy surrounds this place. I've all but begged & no go -they wont help.
My deceast grandmother in law was put there in her mid 20's around 1925/26. She spent her entire life there & this is where she died. Its a mystery to me: Why was she there, who put her there & why did she stay there her entire life. These are family history records - to me, if they have nothing to hide then ALL should be shared. Were not asking for something that we shouldn't have to start with. Sounds like a cover up & TOTALLY SHADY!!! dont tell me HIPPA prevents them from sharing - all this was prior to HIPPA.
