Baker, Roy Originally posted August 29, 1998 I am trying to find the date of death for an uncle, Roy BAKER.  He lived in Seminole in the 1930-1940 period.  The story I have is he fell off an oil well derrick and died in the early 1940's.  His wife's name was Dixie and they had no children.  He was born August 25, 1892. Willa Mae
BAILEY, George William Bailey Date: 26 Mar 2001 Trying to find the county that G.W. died in. I've sent off for his death cert twice, this last time they searched all 77 counties, for a 25 year time period and didn't find him still. He lived in Seminole County in 1920 because I've found him in a census. His wife Susan died in Pott county in 1945 and it said she was a widow. So I've lost his trail in between. I know he's not in the Little Cemetery, it's been checked. So if anything, it may be in one of the smaller. He was a farmer and Freewill Baptist Minister in Seminole County. I don't know that they keep church histories or not. Thanks for your time. Carol Lee - zcarol@yahoo.com or zcarol1@juno.com.
BARGSLEY Date: 03-20-2002 I have been tracing a great uncle of mine who lived in Konawa back on June 7, 1930. He committed a bank robbery in Tuskahoma and was shot in the neck. There were two other men and a lady for sure but there could have been more people. They traveled to Wilburton and left my uncle either dead or dying not far fromt he jail. I have heard from relatives that his brother, Lewis Bargsley was in on the bank robbery. I haven't found out anything about him so far. The uncle that was killed was James C. Bargsley, Jr. It stated in the newspaper in Wilburton, on June 13, 1930, that his wife came from Konawa the next day to claim the body. I have no idea who the wife was or any other information. I was wondering if you could tell me how I would go about seeing if there was anything in the newspaper around that date about his death and about his wife. I would appreciate any help. BROWN, JAMES G. Originally posted: Thu Jan 9, 1997 Looking for information on and descendants of JAMES G. BROWN, b. June 1847, Calhoun Co., Ala., m. 05 Jan 1865 to Syntha TURVEYVILLE. Found in 1870 in Arkansas, in 1880 in Cooke Co. Tx. and in 1900 in Bristow, Indian Terr. OK. Syntha must have died before 1902 because in 1910 James is found in Seminole Co. with a wife Mary (Mollie) (Woods?) b. c.1876. James died in 1930 - his obits in both Seminole papers extoled him as a Confederate Veteran and a long time Minister of the Gospel. Since he was buried from the Church of Christ, one can assume that was the group under which he pastored. At the time of his death, James survivors were listed as Mollie, his wife, a son, Henry, a son L.C. living in St. Louis, OK. and a daughter Dora Henderson. Mrs. J.W. Edward was listed as a granddaughter living in Seminole. When Mollie died in 1955, survivors included a grandson, Jimmy Brown, serving with the army, three granddaughters, Mrs. Dorthy Mey Rummage, Ok. Cty, Mrs. Jo Ann Taylor, Augusta, Kan, and Mrs. J.W. Edwards of Seminole. Also, a brother Fay Woods in Calif. I am particularly interested in the fate of the son Henry C. Brown as he is the ancestor of my children. Also interested in contact with anyone descended from James or who has any information about the family. Joyce Brown
