Hale/Hail, John Wesley Date: 5 Apr 2001 by Beverly Clark I am looking for any additional information or descendants for the following: John Wesley, b: 15 December 1872 Greenfield, Dade Co., Mo., d: 22 December 1958, Seminole, Oklahoma, buried Seminole, Oklahoma married: 1st Unknown, 2nd 23 April 1894 to Edith Margaret Pester, b: 1866 Quincy, Illinois, d: 24 December 1905 Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Even thought the correct spelling was "Hail", John wrote his last name as Hale and it was carried down through his children. It is not understood why he changed the spelling. Children: 1. Grace Mary, b: 5 August 1896, married: Emmett Erwin 2. Louise Lois or Loice Rachel, b: 17 April 1898 Potowattomie Co., Okla., d: Abt 7 May 1988 Melrose, New Mexico, buried:in Melrose, New Mexico. married: Dewitt David Woods, b: 17 April 1892 Oklahoma, d: 12 January 1967 Clovis, New Mexico Quote from Lois herself: "Wasn't born a Woods, wasn't going to be buried as one." (Her name was Hale not Woods on her gravestone.) 3. Johnnie Vernon, b: 19 January 1900, married: Bertha Maples Quotes from Junior Woods: "Johnnie is buried in Paoli (Pay-oh-la), Oklahoma. (Per Minnas Obituary) Willie, Minna and Carl are buried in the Milton Lawns Memorial Park Cemetery, Janesville. 5. Frances Edith Katherine, b: 4 March 1904, married: Tommy Brown. Frances was 1 year old when her mother died. Clark Bible record stated that Frances' middle name was Sara and that her date of birth 1 Jan 1905. Francis lived in Morris, Oklahoma.
HALL, Charley Date: 24 Feb 2000 Searching for any info/newspaper article related to death of Charley HALL, killed in oilfield accident at Cromwell, Seminole County, Okla l923. Buried at Henreyetta, Okla. His father William A HALL resided in area. He is buried at Dustin, Oklahoma. No record of funeral home info relative to Charley. Ernie Hall
Hall, William Henry Date: 20 Oct 1999 My great grandfather(William Henry Hall)is buried in Little Cemetery, just north of Seminole. HANKINS Family in Konowa, OK Date: 19 May 2000 I am looking for information on my Grandmother's family. Clessie Mae Ella HANKINS was born to James HANKINS and Mattie Lelar HEARD on 11/16/1911 near Konawa, OK. Siblings born in same area were Joe Richard Curtis and Roberta HANKINS. Roberta died due to burns around 1913 and is believed to be buried in Vamoosa. James Hankins' parents were Richard HANKINS and Belle KEENEY. Clessie married Leon GULLETT on 7/21/1932 in Marietta, Ok. HARE, Joseph Date: 26 Mar 2001 Would there be any cemeteries in the area where the old town Cheyarraha was located? I'm looking for Joseph (Joe) and Mary/Mollie HARE (Hair) who were supposed to have been buried in Seminole County. I've heard that they lived in Cheyarraha. HARDING, Joseph and Elizabeth Date: 17 Aug 1999 My grandparents Benjamin Franklin Campbell and Verda Harding were married November 10, 1910. Both were living in Maud, Oklahoma, at the time of the 1910 census. They moved several times, settling in Raton, New Mexico, where my grandfather had a grocery store. I am interested in learning the location of their marriage. Also, I would like to be in touch with any descendants of Joseph and Elizabeth Harding, my maternal grandparents who lived in Maud at the time of their deaths and are buried in Cummings Cemetery. Bejamin "Frank" Campbell was the brother of John D. Campbell of Seminole, who was a long-time resident there until his death in 1966. Harrall Date: 25 Feb 2000 I was born in Seminole County OK Jan 21, 1951. Father Robert Harrall, and mother Mary Springer Harrall. I do not have access to a birth certificate, can anyone help me? I dont know the name of the hospital, but was told that it burnt down. It might have been a clinic also. I am needing the certificate for some reasearch. Any help would be appreciated. HARRINGTON Date: 22 Sep 1999 I am searching for any information for my relative Frank Harrington. He was born Jan. 9, 1827 in the State of New York. He married Ellen Roe in 1861. He enlisted in an Illinois Regiment in 1862 and was discharged because of a disability in 1863. He moved to Saline Valley in Kansas and in August 1868 he joined the Forsyth Scouts. He was hired as a sharp-shooter and was engaged at the Battle Of Beecher Island on Sept. 17, 1868. He received several wounds. He remarried in 1896. He moved to Konawa Oklahoma, Seminole County. Tracing the HERRING family, Margaret (Maggie) HERRING, born 1892, (possibly in Arkansas) married James Henry LOGAN and was living in Seminole County in March of 1909. Siblings of Margaret HERRING include Luther HERRING, Gilbert (Gib) HERRING, Jim HERRING, Lucas HERRING, Claude HERRING, Ed HERRING and one sister Callie HERRING. Later relatives included Ernst, Eula, and Eyrin HERRING of the Maud, OK area. Maggie had her first child in Seminole County, Herman LOGAN, in 1909, then moved up to Spokane, WA. Horton, Daniel Date: 14 Oct 2000 My g-g-grandmother's brother, DANIEL HORTON, was murdered near Wewoka at a place known as Horn's Store (or maybe Horn's Crossroad?) I don't have date, but believe it to have been between 1900 - 1920. Possible article in Wewoka newspaper, Obit? If anyone can help, I will be very thankful. HOWELL, James Monroe Date: 23 Sep 1999 I am looking for James Monroe Howell and Marrietta Wood/Woods both from Arkansas and then to Oklahoma. James Monroe Howell born abt 1870 and Marrietta Wood/Woods born abt 1869. Have located them on the 1910 Hughes County township Newburg Oklahoma. The spelling is different; though the great uncles and my grandfather is listed. It only gave 4 of the seven surviving children which were numbered at 9. Starlin born abt 1896-OK; Pane(Payne or Paine) born abt 1901-OK; James B. born 1903- OK; and Calvin born abt 1905-OK I do not know where my great grandparents died or are buried hoping to find some information on them. My mother was born in Wewoka 1935 to James B. most called him Ben. James B died September 23, 1965 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I would appreciate any help or information on them. HUFFINES and PHILPOTTS Aug 27, 1998
I am looking for help in finding records of my grandma's school years in the Sasakwa area. She says she went to Greenleaf? School in the 1920's, and her father, Robert Lincoln "Link" HUFFINES was possibly on the schoolboard there. The teachers of the school were supposed to have been Stella PHILPOTTS and her husband, Philip PHILPOTTS, if her memory is correct. Grandma has Alzheimer's and I am trying to help her find her history before she can no longer remember or enjoy any of it. Does anyone remember or have records of any of the HUFFINES family in the area? Also, she has mentioned a family possibly from the same time frame and nearby area named FORD. Another family possibly named WHITE, who leased land to sharecroppers. Searching for John HULL burial information. Need Look-up please. Died in Bowlegs about 1920 ? The state keeps sending me the wrong death certificate. His g-children remember well putting him to rest in that area. Any help greatly appreciated.
