CLOUD, William Lafayette Originally posted: Oct 1, 1997
I'm seeking any information on Mary, John or Alice CLOUD, children of William Lafayette
CLOUD, including birth, death, burial place and -- most importantly -- surviving descendants.
They are descended from my great grandfather, William Lafayette Cloud (1851-1917) of
Alabama to Austin Cty, TX to Center, I.T. and Konowa.
John CLOUD was Seminole County Clerk and County Treasurer for many years -- possibly the
first. I estimate his birthdate to be about 1881 and his business card as County Clerk
shows him to be a young man, so he could have served as early as 1905 or so. I'm told he
lived in Sasakwa and, besides being a politician, was a school teacher -- a John Cloud
taught in Konowa up until the forties or fifties and I suspect it was him.
Mary Cloud married a man named HOPGOOD and had children named Calvin HOPGOOD and Dick HOPGOOD.
She later married George RAINES.
Alice Cloud married Bill SPAULDING and their children's names were Ruby Jewel SPAULDING,
Sanford SPAULDING, and "Sis" SPAULDING.
I have pictures of these people -- including John Cloud's business card as Seminole County
Clerk -- and will be glad to share them with anyone who thinks they can help.

Where was Red Mound Twp located? Were there other CLOUSE and MATHIS families in the
