McCARTY, Annie Originally posted Wed Jan 21 1998 According to a family Bible, my great-great grandmother Annie McCARTY died in Maude, Oklahoma on April 2, 1909. I do not know whether the town is in Pottawatomie or Seminole County. What I hope is that one of those County Seats and/or a local newspaper would have records from that time that might give me a clue about her maiden name and other vital information. I live in Portland, Oregon, so getting there is out of the question at this time. I would certainly be happy to reinburse anyone for their time to look up the data for me. Thank you so much for being there and volunteering to work on the GenWeb Project. It is such a valuable service! Nan Booth Simpson
McCALL, William and Cordelia November 16, 1998 I'm searching for information on relatives of William Perry and Cordelia MCCALL, who along with 4 of their 5 children, settled for a time (?) in Seminole Oklahoma in the late 1800's. The names of the children were Ona, Ula or Eula, Ada Bell and U.G. McCall. I know that Ada Bell remained in Seminole for sometime, as she was known as the Seminole Queen (?) at one time, according to her obituary. She first married a C.C. JOHNSON and had 3 daughters; Willie, Jewel and Golden Johnson. After Johnson's death, she married John Randolph MOORE, and had 5 more children named; Grace, John Kenneth, Virgina (?) and Mary Moore. After losing her second husband, and many years later, she married Joe FISHER in 1939. After he died in 1946 she moved to Bixby, Tulsa, Oklahoma. I would appreciate any info on this family. Thank you. Anna Brown - abrown@dfn.com

McKinney, Richard S. November 14, 1998 I am researching Richard S. MCKINNEY, last know to be living in Seminole County, OK on the 1920 census in the Township of Econtuchka with his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and William SHEPERD. He was born in Owen County, Indiana in 1851, but I believe the family lived in Estill or Lee County, Kentucky. He was married to Mary CRAWFORD who died in 1918. He lived in Lee County, Kentucky until around 1890 before coming to Oklahoma. A family bible entry indicates his death date to be October 8, 1928. The exact location of his death is not known. We are assuming it might be Seminole County, Oklahoma. I am looking for a city directory entry that indicates where Richard was when he died, or an obituary from a newspaper, or a death record for Richard S. Both my dad and my grandfather were born in seminole Co. My grandfather was born in Wewoka in 1893 and died in the town of Seminole in 1972. I am trying to locate information on my G-grandfather William Montgomery. I find his family 0n the 1900 census but not him. His last child was born in 1897. I have heard that he may have murdered someone in Bowlegs and been hung. I don't know how or where to write for that information. It would have been easy for my grandfather to give me the info but he would not even mention he fathers name. I would appricate any help you could offer. By the way I have an orginal picture of the 1909-1910 Seminole baseball team my grandfather had. It lists the names of all the players. I believe he had it published once in the seminole paper around 1970. Jim Montgomery

The article had to do with a George MORAN who was serving a life sentence for murder of Jay Beemblossom, near Rush Springs, and that Moran's attorneys were preparing to go before the supreme court. This is to help me with my family history research, and I would really appreciate any information you could tell me. Many thanks, Dorothy Newman - dnewman7@earthlink.net

MORRISON, Joel We've been searching for Joel Morrison. He was born in Arkansas in 1855 son of Joel Morrison Sr. The story goes that the family (wife and children) came with him to Oklahoma. There was a marital rift and Joel Jr. wife returned to Arkansas farm with children. Joel later wrote a letter to his wife, evidently from Seminole or Wewoka, desiring to come back to Arkansas. He died of typhoid fever and never made it home. Family researchers have found him in the 1900 Arkansas Benton Co. census, but in the following census years, he no longer appears with his wife and family. His wife's grave is known and he is not buried beside her. Family info says they think he died in Seminole or Wewoka, or possibly Ft. Gibson area. Joel Morrison is my great great grandfather. My great grandmother, who has died, told relatives she remembers her father leaving the family when she was 12 years old. She would have been 14 in 1900, so I think she was off a couple of years. Is there a pauper's grave in that area of Seminole or Wewoka? There are several Morrison's buried in that area, so I am surmizing he went there because there were already family in the area, although I did not recognize any of the names of the deceased Morrisons. Any help is appreciated, thank you, Debra cro@fastol.com
MORRISON, John Samuel Date: 29 Feb 2000 My grandfather, John Samuel Morrison, born 1878 in Texas, died on Dec 22, 1932 as the result of a stab wound of abdomen, which had happened on Dec 20, 1932 in Seminole. He and my grandmother, Olive (Olly) Valindia BLEVINS, born 1878 in Texas, are both buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Ok. I am trying to locate Federal Census records or any other records that have info regarding them and their family. John Samuel Morrison worked in Oil Fields and they lived in several locations. I would love to find relatives. They had eight children: Dewey, Metta, Jim, Orlie, Gladys Faye, Virgil, Wayne, and Foster. I only have birthdates for Metta and Gladys Faye who is my mother. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Marilyn Hartin - rmhartin@seark.net
