Several of my ancesters on the Garrett side are buried in the Bluejacket Cemetery at Bluejacket, OK. Most were in the 1930's era. Could anyone direct to me newspapers that might have printed obituaries for Bluejacket residents in the 1930's. Thanks for any info you may provide. Don McKinney

CRAIG CO. OK RESPONSE: Barbara, all of us have organized because of our different spellings. So on the web is an address of the aumgardner/Bumgardner organization and try it with your query. I found my gggr parents in Whitley Co., INN with a headstone carved Bumgerdner, and not two lots over was his son, Bumgardner, and one record showed Bombgardner so just know that there are lots of us. My own grandparents came from Kansas into Colo. and changed theirs to Baumgardner in 1910 when they found old records from Penn. and part of their older sons kept it Bumgardner. It is a wonderful group and if you just write them, I bet you find your ancestry. Happy Hunting, Bonnie Martin of Goodman, MO

Thanks for the response, Bonnie. Do you have the URL address for the Baumgardner website? I'll keep looking. My grandmother moved from OK to KS and then to CO, and I believe her father & grandfather came from MO, so maybe our lines cross somewhere. Barbara Anderson

Looking for descendants and information on GOSNEY SMITH, born 9-17-1843 and died in Vinita, Craig Co., OK in 1905. Gosney SMITH is the s/o Harrison M. Smith and Emerine Naylor GOSNEY. Family lore said GOSNEY left home when Emerine remarried Leonard Doggett after his father's death and didn't return home until Emerine died on 2-27-1892 in Wapella Co., IA. At that time he was married and had two daughters and a son. No one in the family knows what ever happened to him, his wife or children or if there were more children from this marriage. I am interested in any information that would be available on him, his wife and children and I am willing to share any and all information on the SMITH Family going back to the first that we have so far. I even have pictures and a copy of the families journal that I am willing to share with any descendants of his family. Gosney has been a "Big Mystery," in the family and the last that any of us knew he had been living in Vinita, OK when he returned for his mother's death. We All, would greatly appreciate any help we can get on this one.
