I forgot to mention. My great great grandmother was Alice (Barnes) Sutton born in 1896 died on Sep 24, 1926 leaving husband David Leroy "Roy" to tend to several small children, the youngest being 3 years old. She died of Pellagra ( a vitamin deficiency). Charla

Eastern State's address is P.O. Box 69 Vinita, OK 74301 Write to Medical Records Dept. Obits for Eastern State patients are not to be found unless a family member put it in the newspaper, the hospital never did.

I have the newest book on the Bluejacket Cemetery. I bought it from the Ladies at the cemetery that was selling them. Some of the Garretts shows that their obits were in the Miami newspaper. I would imagine that some were in the Vinita paper as Vinita is just south of Bluejacket. If you like I will sent the tombstone dates and information that they have in the book, if you like.

My Grandmother died in the Eastern State Hospital in 1922. I have tried to get her death certificate but the state does not have on file. Did the hospital not fill out death certificates or are they on file at the court house in Vinita.

Not sure about death certificates in 1922 at state level. None of the undertakers of that time period are still in business. It could be like others and just a particular one wasn't recorded or the state has her under a different name than the one you are sending for. Some of the employees in that office don't seem to be able to find things under their noses in my experience. The death certificates are not at the court house

UNCLE CHARLEY WHITEDAY was married to MARIAH FRANCES CALDWELL (AUNT FANNY). She is my Grandpa's sister. My AUNT LENNA is LENNA NELLIE CALDWELL. Did someone still need this information? I live in Tulsa and will be going to Salina this weekend to pick up a piece of furniture. (AUNT EDITH PLUMLEE will be 106 in September). I'm going to some Cemeteries also. Can I look for something for you? About your JOHN WOASLEY, there's a bunch of WOOSLEY'S in that cemetery. If you want me to see if I can find something for you let me know. Or just ask, they might be family :) E-mail:nailtucker@aol.com

Thanks for the information. These are not my relatives. I am the Graves Registration Chairman for the state of Oklahoma for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). Although it is a Union veterans' descendancy group, I am collecting information on ALL Civil War vets, Union AND Confederate, buried in Oklahoma. So far I have identified about 11,600 vets buried in OK.

Suggest you write to the National Archives at Ft. Worth, TX and get enrollment packets for the 2 girls. They are $10.00 each and require name of person, name of roll, and roll number for each packet asked for.
