What was your grandmother's birthdate? What county did they live in? Maybe we can nose around and find something.

Siny Thompson, Cherokee Freedwoman 1121
|
Query posted by Cooper, Ken J on December 05, 2009
for , THOMPSON, LYNCH
|
Looking for any info on Siny THOMPSON, a Cherokee Freedwoman, who was living in Vinita in 1907. Her name appears in the (rejected) Guion-Miller application of her nephew, Allen LYNCH. It is possible that Siny is a nickname and THOMPSON is her maiden name. In 1907, she would have probably been in her 70s, at least. Possibly the sister of my g-g-g grandmother Malinda THOMPSON

Ragsdale 1122

Query posted by Cooper, Ken J on December 05, 2009
for , RAGSDALE, JOHNSON
|
Looking for the parents of Frances RAGSDALE, b. 1863, d. 1898 in the Lightning Creek/Hayden area of the Cherokee Nation. She was married to a John JOHNSON, and was known by her married name as Frances JOHNSON. She is identified as a Cherokee freedwoman in the 1880 Cherokee Census and the Wallace Roll of 1890. Both of her parents were surnamed RAGSDALE when they married, and one of them may have been a Cherokee by blood. She does not appear to have been related to the RAGSDALE family that still runs the funeral home in Muskogee.
